Trevor and Jackson

Trevor and Jackson, pencil stage

Trevor and Jackson, ink stage

Here are two beautiful greyhonds, Trevor and Jackson. I'm really excited about this piece because I have used two distinctly different size technical pens for the line work, and I am excited about the interplay between the two. I used a thicker line (.35) for the body of the portrait, then went in with a much thinner line (.18)to do detail work in the collars. They really are such beautiful collars, really showpieces - and I wanted to use them to make a strong graphic statement with them. I look forward to painting in...Stay tuned and also check my what's Cookin' pages on my pet portrait site to check for updates, which may or may not be posted here.
